We went with a group of 21 students and campus ministers from all over the nation! It wasn’t as much of a missions trip for Fiji, as it was for the people of America.

What I mean is this: in the past 4 years, over 200 communities in Fiji have been transformed by the presence of God! These villages have literally dedicated their whole communities to Jesus, from the chiefs to the common people! As a result, they've not only seen families healed, but they've seen the land healed as well (2 Chron. 7:14).

BOTUNAULA

A Village of Love

We had to cross a river in order to get to this village, hiking uphill through woods and over barb-wire! This is their community center, where we had meals and church services. There used to be a lot of fighting among families and competition between the 3 churches. Now, they pray and fast together regularly as a community! They were so full of love and hospitality towards us!

NUKU

Bitter Waters Are Restored

In this particular village, the villagers suffered feuds, infertility, mental illness and social problems for decades. Also, the stream had been polluted for 42 years, to the point where the fish had died.

Not only did God bring reconciliation between the people, but He also healed the stream and brought fish back! Now, whenever the villagers get sick, they drink the water and God restores their health! They've even seen 15-20 people’s blind eyes opened simply by splashing the water onto their faces!

NATALEIRA

Where the Fire Fell...Literally

Many problems plagued this village, including marijuana use, women giving birth out of wedlock, drunkenness, witchcraft, and young people committing suicide. The youth were not interested in church whatsoever, churches were divided, and crops were being destroyed by pigs. Fish were also very scarce.

When God intervened, the churches and families reconciled and the young people started praying fervently! They found that the wild pigs disappeared soon afterward.

Even more spectacular was how God restored the fish! 2 women were walking along the beach when they saw a literal fire from heaven fall over the water! The very next day, the water was frothing (bubbling) because schools of fish had returned! For an entire month, anyone could catch fish, no matter what they used! They were so abundant!

HEALING THE LAND TEAM

The Fire Carriers

Every community that has been transformed can be traced back to the Healing of the Land Team. They are a team of 60 young people, ages 18-25 mostly! They commit at least 1 year of their lives to carrying this move of God to other villages, spending most of their personal time fasting, praying, and seeking God in community.

When they're not visiting villages, they engage in 24-hour prayer and spur each other on toward seeking Him. I feel that I've really seen what it looks like to walk with Jesus day-by-day, in a consecrated and fasted lifestyle, and I long for it in this nation! Let it arise, God!

To read more about Fiji's transformation in detail, click here.
